Well it's the 28 of August. FedEx says they never posted the letter from safety. Pittsburgh says that letter is not from them. !!! Our trucks still set at 75..

Our safety people at our hub says the letter that's floating around on internet and on these forum's never came from anyone in safety at Pittsburgh. So maybe someone has played a big prank on these cats!!. But alot off contractors are trying to save money on Fuel. So they are bending the driver over by cutting the truck back.

My contractor said he was at their contractor monthly meeting when they sprung that on all of them in July. He said none of the contractors were pleased and everyone has been getting turned down the last few weeks.

I doubt mine saves fuel. His trucks are spec'd to run 75 at 1480. So at 65 in top gear (12th) they are doing about 1200. Which works fine on the flats, but the slightest hill kills it. I'm in Colorado, we have not only hills but mountains. I bet it ends up running in 11th half the time. (at about 1550)

    we'll see.

Our safety department at our Hub says Pittsburgh thinks it's crazy. But they never issued that letter

    From my Principal:

I can assure you that we’re in no way trying to fool anyone. We were told that from August 28th that 65 was it and it was a contracting standard to continue doing business with FXG. Everyone else has turned down their trucks (and paid a pretty penny to do so). The document on speed limiters dated June 17 (the one you shared with me a couple of months ago) is legit and is still available on the contractor portal.

and he showed me the page in the FY 18 contract that has it in it. Sorry Randy B, but you're incorrect.

Maybe the memo didn't come from the safety department but from the head honchos down in Memphis.

I'm not going to worry about it I'm not doing it. I'm at West Texas run a 75 right now and going to continue on. There's other places to work at other than this communist run operation ATA garbage place to work

My contractor called it legit, too. As did Olive Branch, MS... Memphis and Rialto, CA line haul. 65 started today. As far as I understand it, any speeding ticket over 65 voids the contractor's contract with FXG.

Basically, you get a ticket like that you put everyone at your company out of work.

I read it as "incident", not just ticket. The camera's get your speed too.

Maybe safety might be surprised to know that trucks go faster downhill. I know that's probably a shocker to them.
