How are you liking the vdo?
I looked into these for my dad, who is older and doesn't really want anything complicated. Can read a email but won't learn how to send one type of person

If I read it right, if its installed before Dec 16 2017 it is grandfathered in until 2019 you can use a aobr.
But what is really the difference between the two?

    Thanks Oscar!
So from reading that just about anything newer then the old tachograph is good as long as it plugs in and asks about unassigned drive time. No wonder its such a cluster smh

Whatever you end up getting, just make sure that it is on the FMCSA's list as a compliant device. Which is a joke, because these companies self certify themselves to be on the list. I would also dig into the device and the requirements from the FMCSA to make sure it is up to par. The FMCSA as far as I know is not checking to ensure that these self certifications are valid.

    Hurst and mudflap77 Thank this.
