0619171601.jpg 1977 Wilson aluminum. I had 88 and change in this one during last wheat harvest. Still had room for at least another half bin. I'm glad we didn't.

@wore out , @old iron the hoppers over there does mostly everybody run electric traps and tarps? Pretty much all of the trailers over here that people run got them.

We are just running the electric tarps, still doing the traps manually with the crank

A few guys got electric tarps. I've never seen an electric door but have heard the sand hauling guys run them.

Tarps are more common. Electric doors very few have. I have never had either. Very few 2 speeds that worked on the traps. But my wife is leaning pretty hard to make it better for me

That's my FIL's truck. If we could find some good paying work, I'd shut down the weld shop, fix this up and make them some money. I would love to get back into grain and livestock work. Unfortunately I have 2 hurdles. 1) He's not sure he wants the risk of putting something back on the road. 2) I have 5 1/2 years to full retirement from the Fire Dept. At that point, I'll be 50. He, more than likely, may not still be with us. Unless I absolutely have to, I'd rather not quit.
My schedule is a 3 on, 4 off (10 days a month) schedule. I made a lot of money in the early to mid 90's on just my 4 days off. If the trucks were local, I worked everyday I was off but Sundays. Grain was steady and the owner got in with an outfit running 2 loads of fats per day to Emporia, Ks. 682 miles a day and I "punched a time clock" ;);), since we were less than 100 crow miles.
