But I would imagine that, say, Swift or C.R. England would take a self trained driver, you stay with them for a year and most companies will then hire you. I would assume the company would still do some training but not cost you $7000. I just am hauling wheat and fertilizer for now so I wouldn't know.

Because the people who attend certified schools have at least covered SOME topics that would give them some basic knowledge that may make them less dangerous to other people.. had they paid any attention at all.. So while there are some pretty bad trucking students from schools.. the people who have had NO real training other than the endorsement tests are automatically going to be worse.

But so far, all I have seen is that employers think papers anyone can aquire are automatically better than a good naturally instinctive driver as pros and cons. Not to say every self taught person is a natural Anything else?
