I am 47. 3 rotator cuff surgeries. Last one they were not able to repair it and just moved my bicep muscle. I chose to put a quickdraw on my trailer. Strapping and chaining is not that bad. It is not that bad. I new and take all the advice I can get. I've ran into a few TMC drivers. All 3 seem like good guys.

I have a CDL class A and hadn't driven for three years, I applied with Melton and told them I had OTR experience but had never done flat bed. They accepted me and even told me they would rather have it to where you have no flat bed experience because you do not have any bad habits and they can teach you their way of securement. So apply because if you want to do it you can.
Lepton1 and TPS Report Thank this. -

You definitely won't be too old. I started with Maverick. Top notch securement training. You spend a full week in securement class and then a minimum 3 weeks training with you and trainer doing actual loads. The training alone with Maverick is well worth it. I'm no longer with Maverick but still use what I learned their every day. Best wishes!

Definitely not something I'd do at 50, but that's just me. Don't see any reason why you couldn't though

I absolutely love this type of work.
Doc says I'm in Great shape other than a small belly I can't seem to get rid of.
Not only do I like the work, but every load gives you a chance to think for yourself.
If you're in decent health, not afraid to get dirty, love a challenge, and want to feel like you've earned your pay check, open deck is the way to go.Broke Down 69, TPS Report and Lepton1 Thank this. -
In 1993, I was delivering a coil in Bedford Park
While in Line, the man in front of me was removing his sidekit.....
Well, I started ####-chatting with him.......Somehow we talked about our age..
I Couldn't believe it when this man told me he was 91.
I didn't believe it, he looked 60 at Worst!!! He was a Black gentleman,He pulled out his License and it showed DOB 1902....
I about died!! I was so happy for him... So I asked how he felt and WHY .. He said the key to longevity is hard work. I was 24 years old at the time. Just made my day.
He Looked GREAT.MarkH129, Broke Down 69, TPS Report and 1 other person Thank this. -
