yes, maybe HOme Depot gave away stuff for free. The driver does not represent HD. he represented Western Express.

he had no right to show compassion with someones (most likely) pre-paid load.

i hope he can't find another driving job ever again, what he did pretty much amounts to a felony theft charge.

then in short time, he will be here asking if he can ever get hired again.

Maj. Jackhole and x1Heavy Thank this.

How much is a load of plywood? Figure $16 a sheet ($24 retail to the end buyer) How many sheets on a truck?

Point is- To Save a few Lives and Homes by giving away 500 sheets of plywood or whatever it was. Should this even be a concern?

We as a nation have become ignorant on following the Dollar as opposed to the human element-

The Lumber buyer-Lumber Mill and Carrier should all agree to let this 1 GO, Completely- Take 1 for the team in times of catastrophe.

That Driver to me- Is a Hero- pizz poor carrier- But a Good man.

Anyone with a lick of sense is going to know about Irma before even sending a driver down there. What are they risking to make a buck? Ovbviously they don't care about the driver.

yes, this should be a concern, when drivers take it upon themselves to freely give away the customers fright.

he had NO RIGHT to do so..

of Course I'd get ripped in a matter of time.......

buddy Revell, get that Blood pressure down a bit- I see you fightin' with another person on the wreck thread.

Take a deep breath and think about things first before you post.......

Its Obvious to everyone it wasn't his wood to sell-WE ALL KNOW THAT- sometimes you have to do what's right though.....

He did what was right in the circumstances that existed.

But,Just in fairness- Lets say he would have told everyone "NO" You cant have it- Do you really think Law enforcement would tell the dozens of people "Now go home,Theres nothing to see here".......

Those people would have stripped that truck dry once the driver went to sleep

dude gave away somebody else's stuff, simple as that. You can do the "what if" game from now until the end of time, but the one thing we know for sure, is that the dude gave away somebody else's stuff.
    oh, and
7 hours to get a tire fixed? Now you know why WE has the reputation it has........

    I'll meet you half way.

Im so sick and tired of America building wood homes for 100 years. Those days are past. It's time we pour proper materials able to withstand storms one time and be done with it. With the proper realistic raised foundation that can actually function as a garage or a sort of basement in times of good weather. There ARE homes built specifically already that a 150 mph hurricane did a few minor damage, bust a water pipe, blow some sand in water goes away and it's back up and running come morning on it's own power. That home will be there long after half of us are dead and gone.

Consider Scotland or Ireland, those houses are a meter thick in stone almost a thousand years. Storms come off that atlantic in the winter that are really bad and there they stand. Long before America was a nation.

Im so sick and tired of replacing stuff blown away. Im sick of people building in flood areas well known. etc etc etc.

Let's do it right subsidize the purchasing done right on these new homes built once. And it will serve generations without the need to evac etc.
