I agree with you about the comments here on TTR, but after reading many other posts regarding company requirements, and someone wants to know about this or that, I've often thought "a call to the company" is probably the easiest and most accurate way to get an exact answer. When someone is thinking about going to a specific trucking company, I think talking directly to the company will be the most expeditious route. The community here is an excellent source of general information, and also very useful as you pointed out. So the answer is to use both. TTR is excellent, especially helpful as to what questions to ask, when making a direct call to the employer.
    Thanks

Alrighty then. Thanks for the unnecessary PSA.

Wassup Truckerland. Tonight I'm Lexington, SC. I haven't been posting because there hasn't really been much to report. Once I finally got loaded at that shipper I started my journey to South Carolina. This was an incredibly lazy run, as the delivery time wasn't until today. Honestly this load could have been done a day sooner but the broker never got back to me. The folks at the final were amazing. Some of the sweetest folks I've ever encountered. It's such a pleasure when you encounter a delivery like that, it's a nice little bright spot in the week that stays with you for a while. Once I was empty, I was sent to Owens Brockway in Lexington. This has never happened to me before, but my pickup there was a dnh. I think that there's a new spotter there, I've never seen this guy before. He actually came over to my truck, shook my hand, and introduced himself. What a cool guy! I grabbed my load after dropping my empty and got moving. This load is heading to the Miller plant in Albany, so it's a nice quick run. I'm 5.5 hours away, and my load is due at 3pm. So I have a nice wide window of time before I have to leave. I could have gone further tonight but I'm exhausted. A cattle truck parked next to me last night and those friggin cows kept repeatedly waking me up. Gotta love it. The smell doesn't bother me, I've been around farms all my life. But dam, the noise was ridiculous. Those heifers needed some Ambien. Well guys, I'm calling it a night, gonna try and recover some lost sleep. Be safe out there, and keep the rubber side down. Until tomorrow, peace y'all.

Something important to keep in mind about recruiters though. There is little difference between a recruiter and a salesman. Their job is to deliver a pitch. Other concerns are secondary.

Exactly. Hence the reason I encourage folks to ask questions here. The post of mine you quoted was in response to the "helpful" previous post.

Ya that new spotter took over for the previous guy who retired. He now tries getting our loads ready before getting there, but not always. Which is fantastic because I used to hate that place lol. Used to be a 4 hour minimum there, but like you got to dnh last time, in and out in 20mins

    Indeed.

I can't tell you how sick I get of malcontents sometimes. They're always the ones that make me end up with more work.

Clearly he's working hard. There were 6 loaded trailers including mine. I've never seen that before. And it's worth repeating...he's really friendly. I'm actually looking forward to going back.
