You do your logs your way, ill do mine my way. For me it's about covering my ### so i don't get that one Barney Fife wannabe that decided to go over my logs with a fine tooth comb second guessing what i was doing on my on duty time. If it's work related ill log what i was doing. If I'm in the sleeper, ill log it sleeper not off duty.
Not really sure how one logs off duty when your on the sleeper, but hey, it's your logAirborne and DDlighttruck Thank this. -
In my short 3 and a half years, I've only had 1 dot cop inspect my logs, that was on us35 Jackson Ohio when i was with pgt. He went through my last 7 days.DDlighttruck Thanks this.
-
I'm not arguing (I think) but tell me the difference between off duty and sleeperSAR Thanks this.
-
Exactly. Don't worry so much about it. Easier to not run a log and just skip scales. There's other roads
-
Not much other than the location where you lay your head. There is a difference if your gonna do a split sleeper as only 8 hours in the sleeper counts towards getting your time back.DDlighttruck Thanks this.
-
So 8 hours off duty you don't start a fresh 14? But log it sleeper, you do?
I'm just being an ### by the way -
No, like today i used up 3 hours of my fresh 70 to drive 120 miles, pretrip, and fuel, I'm here at my receiver, but can't unload till 8am, i went to sleeper at 1015. At 715 ill get my 8 hour sleeper time in and will get my unused time back. Then all ill have to do is a 2 hour sleeper or off duty and will get the rest of my 14/11hours back.
-
You're missing the point. Unless I'm completely stupid logging 10 hours off duty or 10 hours sleeper gets you a fresh 14.
-
It does yes, but you asked what's the difference, and i have it to you
