My thoughts? I'll give them to you in a minute.
In the meantime, could you come over to my house? I have a few things I need moved around, some stuff needs to be taken to the dump as well. Oh yeah, would you mind walking the dog too? Thanks a bunch; you're really swell.

That said , I do have a customer that sometimes asks if I'll move trlrs out of doors before I drop mine. Most of the time it's our trlrs and occasionally some one else's. I do it because it's a double drop senerio anyway but I do the extra moves too . why?, because anytime I show up now even with a live unload it's turned into a drop. If for some reason I get held up in traffic and run a little late it's a drop.
Show up and there's 10 trucks waiting cause they're running behind, it's a drop.
Sometimes the benefits you receive aren't paid in cash.
It goes without saying but , when moving someone else's trlr make sure you do a extra special inspection for damage. CYA -
Thanks for all replies, some very comical.
Being blamed or even causing damage to one of the other companies truck was a big reason i stopped moving their trucks. I knew i was not on their insurance or any documentation that i had permission to be in their trucks. Even though i was moving their trucks a short distance, accidents do happen. I believe that if an accident did occur while i was behind the wheel of their truck that the head driver of that company would say i didnt belong in their and doesn't know why i was driving their truck.
I also was wondering what would happen if i slipped and fell out their truck and got hurt. Who would be liable? These are some of the things that i thought about not including that the company and their drivers are very unprofessional, irresponsible and disrespectful.
The kicker to this situation is that there are other drivers for the company i work for that will move (their)other companies trucks all the time. There is one other full time permeate driver that is not allowed to move their trucks after moving as far away from the bay as possible.
So i haven't been moving their trucks for them and they are leaving trucks in the bay even longer now. Driver for other company will show up and jump in truck that is already loaded in the yard and take off while one of their loaded trucks sit in the bay ready to be pulled out into the yard. The games people play. -
And we all got to meet semicrazykattie, too!

If you're an hourly employee moving another company's equipment on your clock, you're working for a competing company for free while your company is paying you. I'd fire your ### instantly. Don't move their trucks.
