Hi Dave, I guess it's the "American mindset", "it can't happen here,,,MUST be fireworks" one said. It's that disconnection to what's going on in the world that has me troubled. 1st of all, you'd NEVER catch me at a venue like this, and if I heard popping noises, I'd hit the dirt faster than Superman. People, young folks, generally, I found, turn off the news, "it's too depressing" and totally ignore the fact, that in a situation like this, that's where these things will happen.

That's the other thing, these people don't one day say, "I'm going to do this today". These people have troubled pasts and NOTHING is done about it. They interview these families of the shooter, "we had no idea,,," BALONEY, total denial. It's as if the media leaves out the folks that say, "oh yeah, we knew this would happen",, like X1 sez, I just feel sick every time this happens and we'd love to place the blame on a single factor, but obviously, it's not that easy,,,and in the meantime, life for the living goes on, I have to go get my meds from the pharmacy. Peace.

Problem is, hardly anyone exists who hasn't at one time in their past gone into a dark or depressed period in their life for one reason or another. Gotta be careful about making it too easy to get someone on "a list" just because they became seriously depressed or withdrawn for a time.

I bet you anyone who has ever rented time/weapon at a gun range to fire a fully auto is on "a list" somewhere. Kinda hard to get proficient with a full auto weapon without drawing all sorts of attention.

They finished a detailed examination of the window situation on the satellite tv. The windows were broken out or shot out in two seperate but connecting rooms at one end of one of teh wings towers. The shooter then runs from one or the other as the situation develops in battle as required. Which allowed for the extra long changing lengths of time reloading between auto fire on videos. I was thinking two shooters. But one shooter running between two places.

If you recall last year in Dallas at the Bank Tower parking that shooter used three seperate shooting spots causing the police to pile up wondering if they were fighting three snipers. We lost some Law officers until they sent a robot with a stick of C4 to blow him up. (Robot is cheap. Lives are not...) out of that nest he made in that parking tower knowing he will not be snuck up on or stormed from any direction other than what he was covering with his weapon.

I like to use several spots myself in training when I find them suitable. Especially if it gets me hard cover or better yet closer to the bad guy to take him out.

There is NO way in hell my colt super will reach the malandy from the concert venue at that distance. It's not worth the risk. It's long gun territory and a horrible one at that.

Which is one reason I deliberately avoid crowded areas where possible. I feel like prey in them. Maybe I am the nut. But Ive always had that instinct not to be prey where possible and only when required espeically when coming out of memphis with a million dollars of narcotics in the trailer...

In my mind, a firearm is simply a tool and is to be used responsibly as such. Look at these isis idiots in Europe, plowing people over with trucks. A truck moving at 50 mph into a giant crowd can harm just as many people. The bigger issue is mental illness and not properly vetting the people we allow in to our countries IMO.
