I mean keeping the program you are currently on. With all the set run drivers loosing that. Most will go 5/2. Then the current 5/2 drivers will have to go 5/2-5/3 or 6/3. Guys on the bottom seniority will likely loose there current program and be on the extra board.

What you fail to realize set run drivers are 5/2 drivers with assigned trucks. So they just go back into open dispatch with their current truck. The catch is how many 5/2 trucks will your DC maintain. Says it will very from one DC to another.

    Fixed.

Certainly seems like Walmart is doing its level best to not only run people off, but discourage people from even wanting to work there.

When they can't get drivers who want to work for Chinamart they can do away with the private fleet. That is the final chapter of a long term plan. My gtm has made it a point to tell everyone at meetings for the last 3-4 years that we cost them $2.30 per mile. They hired Greg Smith for the purpose of doing away with the private fleet. Everywhere he was at previously the private fleet is history. All that matters at Walmart is profits. If you really believe they care about you and your family you are a fool. The Sam Walton culture is gone. Good luck to all of you who drink the blue Kool aid. I've seen what's happening here take place at other companies. I'm just a dumb truck driver but after almost 40 years of it I can see it's time to move on. One more short load and that's it for me. Enough is enough!

I feel for these new guys going to be making $1000 less per month. I hope a lot of set runners retire then that will slide a lot of drivers up.

Seems to me when you treat your employees(we are no longer associates) like your customers then they get what’s coming to them.

When I first heard the commercial for Walmart drivers. I did a little math. The ad stated $82000 per year, 5 1/2 days per week, so that comes to 132 hrs per week. $1576 per week comes out to the $82000 per year they are talking about. But, you are "stuck" in that truck for 132 hrs. and that comes to $11.91 per hr. Now don't come around me and tell me that even before all this "cutting" that driving for Walmart is "tops". I know freight haulers who are home each day making over $100,000 per year. Do the math and compare your hours against the money.

Me thinks yo maths a little off. 132/week is working 24hr days for 5.5 straight days. With no break or off duty which is not possible. I don't count time I spend sleeping as working, I only work 4 full days and 8-10 hours on my 5th day works out to roughly 62 hours a week and im around 89-92year range. What is a freight hauler? Do they live at the terminal? So no time/ commute to and from work. Is getting home every night just to sleep 4.5 hours in your own bed worth it? Anyways it is what you make of it. No job is perfect just gotta pick what works best for you
