After I deliver this load, I'm going back home and taking the week off. Going to post my truck and in the comments I'll put
    "ON STRIKE - DON'T CALL"
and if someone does, I'll just ignore it.

I'm due for a week off anyways, and had planned on this week off, so call it whatever you want. There is a handful of guys caravanning to DC and others taking the week off so I'll do the same.

What is the most efficient way to find direct loads/suppliers to carry? New o/o.

    Northeast United States.

I would not want to put that strike line in the comments. Those are not the sort you want to associate yourself with by appearing to support their wacko thinking.

Does your boss know that you are putting that in the notes?

Don't worry none of the brokers will read the comments anyway at least it always seems like they never do. :-D

Exactly. I did get some calls in the late afternoon out of desperation, I assume.

Enjoying my week off. Cleaned truck out real good, taking it up to dealership for another PM, although I'm not really all that happy with the service at Graff truck in Flint. I've asked for new air filters last 2 times I was there and they didn't replace. I'll just buy my own. @rollin coal where do you buy your own in bulk? I can get 4 that should last a year and a half or so.

Went and played table tennis at the club Monday and beat everybody. Lol. Despite me not playing for a month. I'll play again Thur and Fri. Gonna help aunts power wash the house. I pay them $275/month for rent and have paid them through the year. Think I'm gonna pay them for all of next year as well so I don't have to pay that later. Minus her car insurance that I paid for for the year and a couple other items. $2250 for all of next year's rent.

    I'll just be banking.

Nice to be single and no kids and cheap living.
Although I'd really like to have a son one day to pass on what I know. And to teach how to fish and hit a baseball. Teach how to think and do the right thing, leave the world a better place and raise a human better than I had it when I was young. I wouldn't have him drive a truck unless that's what he wanted to do, but he will read this blog one day and know what I went through. Anyways that's down the road.

EDIT: Graff Truck is booked into next week. Taking truck to JAMBest One on Hill Rd. We'll see how the service is there but seems they have good reviews.

I only buy air filters as needed from the local CAT house. I usually change it every 50,000 but when I serviced the truck this past weekend I noticed my air filter had been in there for 90,000 miles since Oct 1st 2016. Normally 100,000 miles is a little under 2 years for me, really been burning up the highways this year. Didn't realize that...

I get my oil and fuel filters by the case from that same local CAT shop. They aren't the cheapest but I've used them for the past 7 years. They've inframed my motor and done a handful of other smaller jobs over the years. When my turbo blew up they let me use their steam cleaner to clean out my CAC I was doing the turbo swap myself, just bought some gaskets from them for that.

They know me and I know them so I buy their slightly overpriced (compared to local Fleetpride, Truckpro) filters. Relationships are more than just the people who load your truck. And the lowest price doesn't always win out either.
