If the shooter was as well-off as everyone says, his assets ought to be siezed, liquidated, and used to compensate those he harmed...including that $100,000 or so wire transfer. A person with evil intentions should not be allowed to take care of his own loved ones and their future after stripping so many others of their loved ones.

Good idea, maybe his assets have been seized.Sounds like law enforcement is screening his life with a fine tooth comb not leaving anything unturned.

They're going after bumpstocks now. Probably pass that before tax reform or an infrastructure spending plan.

The problem is, from what I can tell (not a gun person) a bumpstop is simply an ingenious mechanical device to take advantage of the gun's natural mechanical action.

    What's next? Ban springs?

As a guy fascinated by mechanical devices the Gatling Gun always amazed me, and every FPS video game out there has some variation of the mini-gun.

I'm reasonably sure with enough time I could disassemble 6 rifles create a rotating bracket to mount them in and some sort of triggering cam.

Will I be arrested For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge? Should I get a "brain permit?" Engineering without a license?

What about all these STEM programs they want to teach? Do you think anyone with a year of shop class under their belt couldn't figure out a way to make an automatic firing device?

The good news is, we've gotten rid of the dirty bath water, we threw a few babies out in the process but that's a small price to pay.

I think the NRA is onboard with tougher regulations on those bumpstocks.

    Hogwash.

It does NOT "convert" a semi-auto rifle to a full auto.

    Here's the real story.

That's what this video also showed. You tell me what turned his rifle into machine guns.By the way the cops found 12 bump stocks in his hotel room.

I don't know much about a full auto, enough to understand that they are expensive and MGV Vegas was kind enough to provide me with some experience with one and several boxes to feed it. (It was a SAW 5.56.. made nice music once you stablized that thing onto the target....)

The attacker's machine gun sounded alot heavier than just a 5.56. Maybe 7.62x54 or even bigger into 30-06 land...

It's a sad situation but I choose to concentrate on the heros that saved many lives that night.

McCurran Airport reported that two tanks of jetfuel was shot at. One had a hole through, which was fixed not long ago, the other did not get through. It's about too far for a round to get through that steel. Even if it did go through, that jet fuel will be hard to light, keep in mind it usually contains certain solvents designed to fight ignition on it's own.

Im pleased those tanks did not light. If they did with 22000 people 50 yards or 100 yards away, the burn cases would have been very very numberous and severe. Just from the Infra red radiation to start off...

That tells me this shooter was very careful in his planning and a very dangerous man. I hope they bury him deep in the Trench west of Guam many miles down. With nothing to remember him by.

Im sorry I don't have much else to add. They are reporting that several media sources are publishing fake news material that is not true such as the two social security numbers or whatever. I don't know what to believe anymore.

All Is say is this, be very careful whatever you do in life. And you will be ok. Don't allow the current drama "De-jour" to create distraction, fear or discouragement in this bad old world. This earth too one day will pass away for a new enternal morning.
