No insurance box on my truck or my personal vehicles. When my insurance company mentioned it a few years back I just laughed and said Not going to happen.

 

I agree. The only hours that should count against your 14-hour day should be you're on duty and you're driving time. I could live with that. I don't cheat on the 11-hour driving time, it's the time in the bunk that counts against the 14 hours that sucks. Why should off-duty time and sleeper time count against my 14-hour day.

 

ELD mandate uniting truckers in protests on both coasts

This explains PART of what went on..The FMCSA invited 5 drivers in after 2 days of them parking in the FMCSA employees parking...They filled it with 30 bob tails.
DC police,Homeland security were both there and allowed it.....The trucks had police escort to several areas in DC...Including the White House.

The meeting went well with the director of the FMCSA...They agreed to further meetings and to discuss reform to the ELD AND HOS rules!..
55 Congressman are on board as of yesterday and that number will continue to rise.

The DOT is now taking comments from drivers and small businesses as of this week.

This is the first step in getting the HOS rules changed......That was the original plan from the start along with the forced ELD mandate...

That is why I started the thread months ago but everyone just wanted to praise the ELD or argue..
AND if you believe that douche Kevin R on Sirius you are as brain washed as they come!

I'm ecstatic to see that bill introduced. Sure hope it gets passed! Need to get the word out to those who actually give a #### to comment on the review section.

 

That is why I started this topic a long time ago in another thread....But was shot down by the E-Huggers!
They do not realize the changes coming in Dec.2019.....A whole different set of rules with ELDs...
The ones in use today will not be the ones in 2019....At least the software will be way different if a particular brand is certified by the FMCSA.....one of the rules and NO brands of ELDs are even certified yet..

 

Most people are blind to the fact that each and every law that gets passed is only a stepping stone to a much more infringing one lurking on the shadows to be implemented shortly thereafter. One law builds to the next. Bridges, if you will. Without the first the law the others would never be possible. The initial one cracks the door open so the subsequent mandates can kick it fully open.

They had speed limiter bills sitting in the winds ready to go right after the ELD was to be passed. Luckily, Trump's halting such things thanks to his thought of limiting ineffective and overbearing legislations particularly aimed at small businesses. Next would have been driving facing cameras because they would have used "safety" to prove drivers were actually in the berth when the ELD claimed they were supposed to be.
