I saw a KW at the yard yesterday with the cab extenders crushed. One side was so bad the sleeper also got damaged and was listing noticeably. Must have jack knifed both sides to sustain that kind of damage.

The question is, after the first jack knife why keep going to the point where they jack knifed again?. The really surprising thing is that the truck was still in service and the driver was hooking to a trailer!

Up north and hit a big patch of ice perhaps?

He may have jacked one way and then the other.

    Redtwin and JohnBoy Thank this.

Been home since Thursday, thoroughly enjoying my hometime, my wife, and especially doing real estate work with my wife. Am enjoying it so much I might have to rethink this timeframe for retirement. I've been a licensed realtor for the last 15 years. Can't wait to hang up my flip flops and be home every day. Especially when I get a phone call from the mothership telling me I have a new trainee waiting for me when I get back, it somehow takes the wind out of my sails.

    Lonesome and bigred81 Thank this.

How'd you get roped into training duty? I hope that comes with a corresponding increase in pay.

Sounds like it's time to stop training.

Training pay is extremely rewarding financially, to the tune of 20k more per year. Or in my case because I don't do it full time, it's right at 15k. I try not to train someone who never set foot in a big truck before, exactly how to drive across Wyoming and the Colorado Rockies in January.

Just need to throw this out to my brethren here. I had the pleasure of meeting up with our Safety Director on Thursday here in Jupiter who was down for an insurance conference. My wife and I picked her up and took her out to dinner. Very nice dinner, right on the ocean. I say this because as I sit here, I've already heard some rumors.

    You're a better man than I. I couldn't do it.

I've found that most people are only interested in doing the absolute bare minimum possible to keep their job.
