I buy the $4 walmart Ozark trail folders. They are as sharp as they need to be and if I lose one or the blade gets damaged I won't feel it in my wallet. At that price they are not even worth sharpening though I have yet dull the blade on any of them.

I call it a tire thumper.
If 'tire' means 'head' I guess I got my nouns mixed up.JReding Thanks this. -
A hammer is good. I use it as a tire thumper.
Owning a truck, scheiss always needs to get smacked around anyhow.
I buy Fuller brand hammer, still made in the USA (yes, some of us Canadians are loyal enough to do this).x1Heavy Thanks this. -
I carrya Boker folding knife and2 white knucklers. -
BTW, go to
US Knife Laws | KnifeUp
and enter the state laws where you are going for orientation. In the truck, most states will cover the truck in the "castle doctrine." -
I've used the cheaper knives before, and there's nothing wrong with them. But like you, i do prefer a quality blade as they hold their edge better, better handle feel, safer locking on a folding blade. And the straight blades come with a much superior thick leather sheath.
It's like Mac tools to Harbor Freight.Redtwin Thanks this. -
Nice! Obviously you like a curved blade with big belly. Those 2 fixed blades look like beefy pot bellys meet a reversed karambit . Insane looking fighting knives. I'm impressed. I'd be interested in see the sheaths on those. Wow
TripleSix Thanks this. -
I just visited the white knuckle site. Nice knives and not badly priced. I saw the sheaths. Can do scout carry or traditional carry. I'm impressed by those.
TripleSix Thanks this.
