I really appreciate your help and understand my situation, thanks
-
What?!
Are you trolling? Being a O/O with zero experience in the industry is going to hurt you really bad.
Spend 5 years as a company driver learn all you can before you go burning money as a O/O
To offer a opion on your question it will be the '07 but I have other preferences at that price point... -

One of my options is this little 379 Pete. 475 Cat and big rears ratio and a 13 speed. Among other things.

Here is pete in particular. Bidding has taken off. with a 30K stake you should be able to do well. But, this truck is a area of compromises for me A smaller 470 CAT but has the 13 speed plus shock equipped spring airride in the drives. and so on.

Dude, take it from me and others, get miles under your belt before even considering this as a business.
I doubt you have the capital to actually make it work and being in Florida, it is even at best the worst place to start a company without really good knowledge of business and the market.
If you have the capital ($100k plus) then I have to ask why in the hell would you even consider trucking to make money, there are hundreds of ways to make more without the risks.DUNE-T, gentleroger, Jestrada0404 and 1 other person Thank this. -
@gentleroger said it perfectly.
That's the plan to follow.
Get the experience and the business knowledge.
Live meagerly and save tons of money.
Learn, learn, and LEARN.
THEN... Look back at this question and see if you wish you had your $30k back if you didn't listen.
If you didn't completely understand everything he was trying to convey to you, you are NOT ready.
That's not being cruel. That's being truthful. I like successful prople. You deserve to be one. Do it right.gentleroger and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Buy the '07 and then call me before you file bankruptcy so I can buy it off of you.
Crude Truckin' Thanks this. -

All he needs is 6 months driving experience, he needs to read all the topics in the o/o section for this 6 months, good truck and good chunk of cash (or a line of credit).
Anybody can drive a truck, but not anybody can own a business, the same as anybody can cook, but not anybody can own a restaurant.
OP, so go get a job, start reading. Buy a pre 2003 truck for 15k and start fixing it. In 6-12 months you will know a lot and have a paid off reliable truckJestrada0404 and x1Heavy Thank this.
