I could be wrong, but I believe NY state has a 4" limit in blades. Can't remember where I read that, but it has stuck in my noggin.
I wouldn't put it past them.. they don't like a man to be able to defend himself under any circumstances.
Pocket knife legal?

Some states outlaw stuff that free states do not. It is plainly marked tire thumper on mine. Although it has had served knotts and friends where necessary. -
Tire thumper can be a deadly weapon. If you apply force against temple, side of neck C section under Jaw and particularly the lymph nodes in the armpit or slightly lower into the top half the ribs on the sides not the front or back, they get to hurting too much then swell interfering with breathing expansion. And finally the lower two floating ribs you might be able to drive it into the diagphram or the liver itself. It will take a while but that's generally fatal without care.
Most police train NOT to hit those 5 vital areas when using baton, thumper night stick etc.
I think maybe to think about nice things tonight. I don't need the clouds of what would have been if those two had done the fight somewhat differently up there in Chicago. That was a #### near thing for me. Probably lost half of my 9 lives in about 6 minutes. whoo were they fast. I thought I was.. but these two were really fast. *Shivers. -
So this post got me thinking back to where or what got me interested
in knives, blades; all forms of edged weapons. My dad was a finish carpenter and locksmith and had a friend who was a farrier. not the fur guy - the horseshoe guy.
He had taken a horse hoof file that was about 16" long and ground it into a dagger.
Had it wrapped up in a rag in his long toolbox he used to take to the barns.
One time he came by and - me being a nosy 8 yr. old kid, pulled it out and he freaked.
I knew I was on to something. My dad had drawknives, spoke shaves, planes.
all of which I was shown how to sharpen. Started collecting pocketknives at 10.
Still have all the old ones. Ended up going to Valley Forge Military Academy in '68.
went all over Phila. and surrounding area to any "Army and Navy" type store
and buying the odd and obscure. Back then any sporting goods store had WWII surplus Springfield 03A3's upside down in barrels for $20.00 each.
Too many old bayonets from WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and modern. Bali knives.
Probably have over 30 swords, a cutlass, and sabers, a heavy rapier, 4 foils.
So yeah, I did go over the top, but it took me 40 years to get there.
Conservative estimate would be 50 grand of edged weapons on 4 walls and ceiling.
My wife won't go in there - especially on Halloween. Good!TripleSix, x1Heavy, IluvCATS and 1 other person Thank this. -

I did have a slight omission in the injury panel applied by thumper. When the body gets a crush injury it applies fluid to try and sort of swell itself out of trouble to protect the injured area. One happens to involve your lungs. It is my theory that fluid floods them and drowns you on dry land after a bad hit.
I appreciate the thought, but if anything hates theory it will be me. It has to be a practical application.JReding Thanks this. -
If im not in the truck, I'm on the Hog. I used to carry a sidearm in the truck, but my current gig means that I frequent airports, military bases, nuclear power plants, schools and hospitals. So I took the sidearm out of the truck (those power plants are the biggest pain...they will open your bologna and cheese sandwich to see if anything is hidden between them bread.)
On the Hog, I carry a 9C on the right, and a whiteknuckler on the left, scout carry. Straight blade, left hand draw. In a close up confrontation, you want a left hand draw and you don't want to be fumbling with a fold up blade. A sturdy sheath allows you a quick draw in your sleep. I prefer the leather to the neoprene sheaths.
In the truck, the 2nd whiteknuckler replaces the gun. Right hand draw just as fast as the left. No issues with any of my customers with the blades.
"Six, you sound a little paranoid..."
Prepared.
You know how when you try to walk from your truck into the truck stop, some fool makes a beeline towards you? That can get real ugly really quick. In this video, the girl sees the guy. He beelines towards her and she practically puts herself into a corner. Yes, I know...it was sudden and she didn't have a lot of time. That's why you PREPARE beforehand. It's like pretripping your truck.Last edited: Oct 11, 2017
