Will it be hard finding a job if you don't have them.
I take my test on Thursday and have been looking for a job ready when i get my cdl. I dont have any endorsements nor for doubles and triples or tankers. should i get those before looking for another job or will their be companies that dont ask for them.

I would take the test for the endorsements. I had a dry van load the other day that required a tanker endorsement.

You will still find companies that will hire you but you could make more with them. I suggest if you can get all your endorsments. It will open more doors for you down the line.

Make sure to add at least Tanker. It is required when putting liquid containers of certain capacity in a van or reefer or flatbed. The endorsements cost so little to add and every question is available online.

You tell me what will happen in the future and I'll tell you what you should have done. It's a game of odds.

    CrappieJunkie Thanks this.

I've hauled many hazmat loads in refrigerated trailers when no refrigerated loads were available.
Stuff you never think of; paint, fingernail polish, car batteries, etc.

It's probably better to have all your endorsements. So that way it opens up more opportunities in case you don't know what field to go into, especially for a new student. But there are good paying jobs out there that don't need endorsements though such as...

Mail Or Mail Contract Carriers - USPS, Eagle, B&B, Matheson, Veltri, Clifford B Finkle, Ling, Hoovestol, Postal Transport, Pat Salmon, etc.

Grocery Distribution - SuperValu, ACME, Wegmans, Wakefern/Food Haulers, Safeway, Albertsons, etc.

Foodservice (Non Shuttle) - McLane, GFS, Sysco, US Foods, Papa John's, Domino's, etc.

Bakery - Bimbo Bakeries/Grocery Haulers, Gold Medal Bakery, Baker's Express, McKee Foods/Little Debbie's, H&S, Schmidt, NE Foods, etc.

Flooring (Non Shuttle) - Shaw, Mohawk, Daltile, etc.

Milk Delivery (Non Tanker)) - Dean Foods, HP Hood, Tuscan, Dairy Pure, Clover Farms, Balford, Rosenberger, Penn Maid, etc

Beverage - Pepsi, Coke, Tropicana, etc.

And many many others, such as...

    Frito Lay
    Wise Foods
    Nestle
    Mondelez
    Costco
    Ashley Furniture
    Raymore & Flannigan
    Keystone Freight/NRT (Non Shuttle)
    Panera Bread
    National DCP/Dunkin Donuts
    DHL
    Penske
    Ryder
    CPC Logistics
    Walgreens
    Rite Aide
    JB Hunt DCS
    Yard Jockey
    etc.

And also, if you want to work in LTL, you need ALL of your endorsements.

You'll need the Hazmat for when you eat a burrito for dinner.

Seriously.... They're only written tests. Study and get all you can. Can't hurt.
