you did not get what I was saying. it's not about warranty and where that car was registered . I wanted to say that cheap cars can be reliable and expensive loaded with features car can be non reliable trash.
Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

That path was a 100% USA one.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
I bought a new cummins powered truck in 11/2006 knowing DPF was coming and worse things down the road
Turned out to be a good decision , I was thinking that by the time my truck was worn out they would have the bugs worked out of these systems .
Now I'm not blaming euro tech for every problem we have , I blame our gov for following you down this rabbit hole that there seems to be no exit from .
I will keep my de-EGR-ed cummins as long as possible or until someone and it could be euro tech finds a dependable solution , but I'm not holding my breath.
What I'm irritated by is you euro guys thinking your solutions are working , they're crap and we should not have followed you .
This could have been managed better coming up with systems that worked and are dependable before they legislated their use.Last edited: Oct 25, 2017

Anyway we are bit behind in emission...eu get euro4 standard in 9/2006 if i remember correct, this was first complicated one, it had either ege only or scr , not both,euro5 came in 8/2008 it is scr system, scania tried egr and it was in many cases disaster.... this is quite simple as long you are using good DEF you will not have larger problems. Euro6 is equivalent to epa2010 we get it in 1/1/2014.
This bring complexity dpf, oxicat scr+egr vgt or more complicated turbo system dual stage....early ones had problems with nox sensors in exhauston all brandsOxbow Thanks this. -
Europe wanted emission control on trucks, and set up road map how to achieve that in the period of 1992 to 2014.
The US authorities liked the idea, and wanted to do something similar.
The US industry however wanted to use a quick and dirty method to achieve this in the period of 2004 to 2010.
That failed miserably, so Europe is to blame for wanting to have cleaner emissions.
Yes, I understand the logic. -
conventional models like you could have were made from 1959-1969.
cabover is type LP not NG, basically it is mix of at that time new small NG and old L truck.
production of heavy NG started in 1973 ( my father had demo/test truck nr.111 ever made) and was in production till 1988, some special models were made till 1989. for export they were made till 1994, in south africa till 1998, still made under licence in serbia and china.
model 1525 had engine that was never offered anywhere in my knowelage i think this could be easy MAN 5cylinder engine bore and stroke are identical.
it is sometimes confusing to see NG cab on different class, you can find it on 10t trucks and most heavy ones -
