Two things. One, to repeat. Just because you make a statement, doesn't make it true.

Second, nobody much cares what you think, since it happens without understanding....

No, what I'm saying is that the actual qualities of the European trucks don't matter, they dont't have the dinosaur look, so truckers don't even look at them. The same applies in many cases to modern streamlined US trucks. They look far to civilized as well for many truckers. Just read this thread, and there are numerous statements that only the dinosaur trucks is a real truck.

I wrote that they are more advanced, and that there are certainly areas where they would do a better job than a standard US truck.

No, I wrote that many mechanics don't have a feeling for electronics, and therefore replace all kind of parts without need. They don't understand that it can be a wiring problem. In another thread there's a trucker who wrote that he spend $80,000 on repairs, until he changed the wiring harness of the engine. Then all problems were over. That is what I mean.

The harness shouldn't have been defective of course, but his dealer should have thought of changing or fixing the harness, and so not having this poor trucker pay $80,000 for completely unnecessary repairs.
