Quest Diagnostics does about half of all the drug testing of employees or applicants in the USA. They have about 43,000 employees. Not sure if that makes you feel any better or not. The "chain of custody" for each specimen is obviously very important, from the doctors office to the lab destination where it is tested.

I worry less about chain of custody and more about a doctor that misinterprets a false positive screening test. I had a sleep doctor that wrote in my results study for my dot doctor that I had a positive drug test when I had my sleep study done. I get my lab results online from my doctors office and I saw the false positive, so I took that along to my dot exam and the dot doctor immediately recognized the result as a false positive, as it says right on the report that it is not a final report. The final report was a negative result. The dot doc said I should tell the sleep doc that the positive test was a false positive....which the sleep doc recognized, as she had not waited for the second and final negative report......human error.

The only people I see worried about the random drug test is the usual suspects. It is by design to regulate human behaviors to keep users from endangering others. Frankly, the roads would be a lot safer if everyone had to pass a random 7 panel drug test to renew the privilege to drive on public roads.

I recently did a 7 panel drug test and they used a saliva test...

We should be more concerned that a saliva sample will be used to capture our DNA profile.

Fear not @InTooDeep, most of the drug testing today can be done inhouse. It cost less than shipping the samples to a lab. Urine test take about ten minutes to verify the absence of schedule II controlled substances. Plus, all you need to do is stay alert and watch the testing person seal your fluids in a specimen container. You can also request a copy of the result the same day. A lot of companies need to switch to these instant drug test before handing the keys to new employees. You have nothing to worry about the so called false positives, unless there is some medical condition currently being treated by a physician. I read somewhere that certain prescriptions often mimic narcotics currently outlawed even though they are non-narcotic. If you are taking any kind of Rx, be sure and have the name and the doctors phone number readily available.

Does anyone have a link to the "Drug Test" study guide? Maybe some practice tests?
