Whether you have a trailer or not and whether it’s loaded or not, click on “off duty driving” and drive.
The odds of getting caught or minuscule.

I could see dragging the trailer off duty driving, if it were your own trailer. Company trailer......oh hell no.

Landstar we're allowed 2 hours, but must be BT.

There are some drivers that lobby for e log as long as its convenient for them, but don't actually play by the rules, some companies don't either.

OP as far as you going way over on your 11 or 14, they'll give you a warning, even several, but they will fire you for that. If you do stuff like forget to note things, change load info, those aren't serious violations, and they will give you more leeway. But driving violations they won't tolerate. Those will get you put OoS if you get an inspection this week, fined, CSA up the ###, blah.

BUT at least you didn't just pull off onto the emergency lane or a ramp like so many of the mega company jack ### es I see.

You probably won't get caught by law enforcement, but the company will probably notice, eventually.
We recently had a safety meeting and the proper use of off duty driving was mentioned. Although Prime is a much larger company than my employer.

    Oh you might.

I was running the hills south of Sayre NY (With a ravens flat load of shingles for roof at the VA Clinic being built in Sayre NY, due in 45 minutes appt.) The problem was I had left 15 minutes prior with exactly 1 hour 15 minutes left against the 70 hour rule for 8 days this morning.

I hoofed it across a ridge and down into the valley allowed her to build momentum against a 9%, smokey behind me lit me up. JACKPOT. In the rain of all things.

After a very careful inspecition that burnt 40 minutes that i did not have and now am late for Sayre... and out of time everywhere... and... and ...

Someone shoot me. This mule is finished today. But he let me out, made delivery. Hid out in the truckstop to the west rest of the working day until midnight...

As you admit " After i ran out of hours i kept driving" simple fact is you stop well before your 14 hrs are up, learn from this and move on you won't be the first and won't be the last to do it. If your given a load just explain your hours are up and you can't pick it up till you've had a 10 hr break. Also if this company keeps forcing you to pick up after your hours are up, make a note of it in your personal diary, also send a message over qualcom so you have proof of your action.

It's not a pilot program. It's called personal conveyance. Google "personal conveyance fmcsa".

You drive a "combination vehicle" made up of tractor and trailer. So, when you take your tractor and trailer to a shipper they LOAD you. It is then your responsibility to transport that LOAD to the consignee. The contents in or on your trailer make up your load. You are now "under a load". This is where it gets simpler. The consignee unLOADs you. They remove the LOAD from you. Make sense?

Based on FMCSA rules for personal conveyance to the best of my knowledge there are no time or distance restrictions. This meaning, if one wanted to, they could technically drive from CA to Maine without breaks. They mention it being for getting something to eat or going to a restroom if where you are parked there isn't any viable options. The only restriction being that it can't be used while transporting product, commodity or loaded. Whatever terminology you decide to use.
