You will not find this MAN engine in a MAN truck either:

As much as I like Cat, they did have a major brain fart in their decision to compete in the class 8 truck market, which was short lived.

But Cummins do supply aftertreatment systems to Paccar and Navistar, just to name a few.

mhyn, W9onTime and Bean Jr. Thank this.

Cat was only making 5% of their revenue from truck engines, after getting sued for ECM trickery , and the 2008 election , they saw the writing on the wall.

    mhyn and Oxbow Thank this.

Allright, Europe sucks at urban planning, fair enough.

Some of our cities also have their moments. We just don't over react and make the rest of the country adapt to them. We use a low tech, 100% effective solution in those cases where trucks don't fit the road:

It is not just the cities, secondary roads, villages, and so on. Some of our roads are at least 2000 years old, street plans in villages and cities are a 1000 or more years old. I think it was in 1919 that a certain captain Dwight Eisenhower was the first to drive a small military convoy from the east coast of the US to the west coast. At the time there was no transcontinental road system in the US, just railroads.

Something interesting for our friends here. You have posted 773 comments. I have not reviewed all of them, but it looks like all but 3 are on this thread, of which, this is the 4,545th comment. You joined the conversation on the 73rd page, meaning that your content alone is close 1/5 of this thread since you joined. Further, you should be able to take credit for another equal amount of posts, if not more, just rebutting you.

You keep telling us what we should be driving, even though you have failed to confirm that you at least speak from experience as a driver.

From now on, the only response to one of your posts is

    Because; Platypus!
