And all the while I wonder... Why?
Blind in one eye, so disabled to a great degree - especially when it comes to driving a big truck.

Maybe I am just overly cautious, and care more for others well being than my own wants to drive a truck.

I dare any of you to put a patch over one eye for a day or two and drive safely.
Or just shut one eye for a few minutes while you are in heavy traffic, with cars coming in from all sides.

I was born blind in one eye. I’m not trying to drive semi’s. The power trucks around here are no bigger then a f550 tow truck. Instead of a flatbed it’s a big tool box with a bucket.

And all the while I wonder..... why ######## think covering one eye for a few minutes or putting a eye patch on is even comparable to a person who was born blind in one eye. People who are born with one good eye never know the difference. We learn every aspect of life never knowing the difference. As for depth and peripheral vision you get lucky and have parents that make you play sports growing up to strengthen my eye so I’m not “disabled to a great degree”. I guess it’s a miracle that I haven’t killed myself or someone else road racing corvettes for the last 7 years.

I’m a responsible grown man moosetek13 that would never put innocent family’s lives at risk for my own personal wants. I posted a question asking for advise all other members gave input to help me out. You and your opinion can stay up on pedistool and stick it up your ###.

A friend of mine got hit with a binder handle, blinded him in one eye. He still drives and is able to get a valid health card. Never asked him much about it but I think he got some sort of waiver.

    Good for you.
But, you are impaired in vision none the less.

You may not realize the difference between 2D and 3D sight, or even care about it, because you were born with it.
But there is a real difference.
