Not my walmart. You will only see walmart trailers sleeping at night on that lot.

There is a small truckstop in the area, and a Loves in Searcy as well as a few others plus a Petro in North Little Rock (Galloway on 40)

There are a thousand places to put a big truck that is not necessarily a truckstop. But being left alone and not hasseled is the big trick. People always run out and want to give you a hard time when you park a semi in some places not normally marked as such.

That's because you can tell by the trash left behind that a truck was parked there.

The thing is tho that there's safety in numbers. If you're parked somewhere by yourself in the wee hours of the night, you could end up victim of a break-in, hold-up, truck jacking...or even worse. There's drivers who have lost their lives being parked in some desolate location far away from help. Not that stuff doesn't happen in a truckstop, but nobody's gonna try a break-in when there's 50-100 other trucks around.

Most states allow parking at scalehouses. Some even have public bathrooms. Rarely much competition for spaces equals plenty of peace and quiet, but the official law enforcement nature of the place still adds a touch of security. Not a good idea if you're illegal though. Imagine waking up and getting ready to roll, only to discover that the scalehouse is now open for business.

My GPS has three "quick search ahead on route" slots. I have them programmed for truck stops, rest areas, and scalehouses.

Another option I've used in a pinch is parking lots of commercial buildings that are unoccupied and for sale, or even straight-up abandoned. Seems scary until you realize that many of them can be found right next door to going concerns. A restaurant building for sale right next door to a truck stop, for example. But the best option was already mentioned and seconded: your shippers and receivers. Then you can stay on line 2 until around the time that they hand you your paperwork.

Yes i don't want to be woken up by a bang on the door. Yeah my local walmart recently put up new signs "no layover truck parking walmart trucks exempt". How kind of them.

And in the Bible Belt don't forget all the big box porno stores. Lots of parking space there, with "Truckers Welcome!" signs...

I can't blame them. A bunch of pigs holding steering wheels ruined that! They got tired of picking up piss bottles and bags of feces!!! Not to mention all the same pigs that don't know tires aren't supposed to be on curbs or in their bushes because they are not skilled enough to drive without scrubbing their tires!!

Last I checked walmart does not pick up anything outside. They might send a wrangler out to get the carts and that's it. Im not here to pick on walmart. Everything they do with the employees is in pursuit of financial gain. Nothing else.

I heard this too but seriously i see a ton of crazy stuff done by 4 wheelers that shop there more then what truckers do. I seen a guy change his oil in his car and leave the oil pan and 5 empty oil quarts laying right there in the lot on the ground. He just peeled out after he was done the oil change. I've seen nasty mothers drop dirty diapers on the ground. I can write a book on the crap i see everyday people do in walmart parking lots. My local walmart has abandoned cars with windows broken out with tow tags on it and i dont live in a ghetto.
