It is completely new from the block up. No more dual turbos and extra inter coolers, it's a much simpler design.

Dave_in_AZ and Tug Toy Thank this.

I should also say I built this truck with Summit Truck Group in Lowell, AR, my salesman was Chad Toms. Really good experience at International. I'm not kidding when I say that I shopped this spec all over town. They were the only ones that would build it.

So most dealers tried to talk you into buying something on the lot and weren't interested in helping since you wanted your own spec built?

Doing an 870 mile run with frozen @ -10 continuous right now. Outside ambient temps ranging from 47-75*. The unit will have run about 28 hours by the time I get empty tonight. It was full of fuel when I started. Currently its just a hair under 3/4's of a tank now. 2015 Dane with Thermoking unit. Topping up before delivery and will pack it full again after delivery just to know exactly how much fuel it has burned and report back. I will say if it was summer temps 90* outside and 80 or so at nights by now it would have probably burned closer to half a tank. I'm amazed at the efficiency of it on continuous. On cycle under the right conditions it hardly burns any fuel at all it seems. Of course that will vary from load and circumstance.

That's crazy on a $150,000+/- purchase. Harrison and Fitzgerald won't even allow you to spec anything unless you're ordering "xx" amount of units. Cowpie on here spec'd one with Harrison's in 2011 down to the last nut and bolt and he said his was one of the last ones they did like that for someone buying a single truck.

Correct. You either build a truck utilizing an integrated power train and their automated transmission or all you'll get a vanilla fleet spec truck if you want a manual. If you do what they want the only option you'll have as far as powerteain goes is the rear end ratio and the usual things like tires and Interior. Even if you do their integrated power train you are very limited in the motor choice. Engineering will turn down everything unless it is what the OEM puts out as a standard spec. They do it like car dealerships, you have a package and that's it. International wasn't like that at all. I was very specific about what I wanted.

As an example, you see a boat load of Freightliners with DD15s, if you want a DD13 in a highway truck you won't get it unless you meet certain criteria. If you're just a guy that wants MPG from a smaller displacement motor, they won't do it. I shopped this at Freightliner and my only option was DD15 or Cummins.
