The problem with that is that applies to steer and drives but not trailer.

Nope. It is one of the things you have to keep in mind any time you're pulling a trailer over 48' long. Some states don't care...but the ones that DO will make it an expensive oversight.

Move your tandems 2 holes and you'll be fine.

Patty, the debate is to either run it the way it is and be over or slide the tandems and be over on the bridge law.

I would slide the tandems. Two holes past the bridge law isn't as obvious as being 800 over on the tandems.

I should have gotten the load reworked but oh well, I'm running with it. KY doesn't have a limit for the tandem distance, TN does. I'm passing 2? (Elizabethtown ky, Portland TN) scales. I don't think Indiana has one on 65sb past indy... Hopefully luck strikes me and the scales will be closed.

I ran TN for two years. Never checked where my tandems were. Just made weight legal on each axle and ran. Ran both super light, 3,000k loads and super heavy 44k loads. Never got popped. Actually, never got pulled in. Ever. Guess I was lucky.

Slide the tandems to the 14th. Good on trailer now, actually right on the money.

I find the spread rather annoying. Nobody wants to load it RIGHT...they'd rather take the lazy way out. "You can run 40,000 on the trailer axles!" they say. Legally, sure...but that don't make it RIGHT!!! Move the load forward. Give me some weight on my drives and at least TRY to balance the load. Rides like crap and doesn't steer for $#!+ when you've got 38-40k on the spread and only 28-30K on the drives. They don't care...until I make them rework the load. Then they *!+%# and moan and act like they don't have time to fix their screwup. Well, then, you should've done it RIGHT the first time!
