A day of hometime for every week you're out isn't great. You're driving 8-10 hours a day, you're away for a month and all you get is 4-5 days? A whole 30 days away from home and the most they want me home is 5 days? Then comes the crap pay, no overtime, etc.
I've always wondered this because I keep catching hell/pestered for taking 2 weeks off when I'm out there for 2 whole months. If you're single there's no point having a house at that ratio of work to hometime especially out in the northeast where the rent is $1200 for an apartment.
Why do most mega otr carriers want you gone so long?

I've been saying that for years if you run otr living in the northeast is a big waste of money.Go buy a house in w.va,alabama,tn,etc for 50,000.

They need you to stay out all the time so you can make up for all the deadwood and screw-ups in the office.
