Gee.... Am I deceiving myself? Or... Isn't there alot of Regional and Local tanker work in the North East? I thought even Prime said they have that in taker there. As well as OTR.
Might look into KAG. Drive4KAG | Positions

Prime will take you with no experience. They're happy to accept Licensed Class A with no experience. Might have something that works out great for you? Better than $150 a day.
Talk to: Nikki Yost 417-521-3598 ....she's a great recruiter. Yes, she's in Springfield. She will give you the straight scoop. If she can't handle it. She'll direct you to who can. Maybe someone in Penn.?
Prime pays $700 a week during training. Or more if you get in more miles with your trainer.

12-24 months recent and verifiable tractor/trailer experience
copied and pasted right from KEG website.

regional is still leaving home for days at a time. i did werner for a few months and i had to deal with a whiny wife at home that refused to do anything. we get snow here. my normal plowing rig is a 1948 farmall cub with a blade. she refused to run the tractor but then said she WOULD run a snowblower. before i left, i bought a brand new snowblower $500. she shoveled a 4' tunnel just wide enough to get the car out. i had to listen to my mother and other people complain the driveway was impassable . she didnt use it once. she actually called me and complained her car doors were frozen shut. she's in ny and im in allentown PA, what the heck do you want me to do about it. really??? the kitchen sink broke and remained broken for two weeks, my wife had no water in the kitchen. i have an old home that does need some attention. my wife doesnt know the difference between a hammer, a screw driver, and a wrench

in order to leave home for several days or more at a time, and be married... you have to have a strong woman at home.

make it worse, my son basically had to live with my mother for 4 months. my wife DOES work full time and the only way we could work around that was to have my son at my moms house constantly. he started to act up in school and was falling behind.

i felt like the wife and my son suffered in my absence and decided that type of working that keeps me away does not work.

walton milk hualing might be a little ugly but i still wont be living away from home.

Go ahead and give KAG a try. Put down the four months you got. Along with the straight truck driving. Tell them you want local. They just might have it for you!
I can't help but think you can find local there.

They want to make sure you can handle limited supervision with untold amount of money in the trailer. Some guys are total morons and go way out of route or even worse.

i honestly had the most enjoyment doing paving jobs..... all of the trucks lined up at the side of the highway. wait in line and unload in the paver, go back to the pavement plant for more.... back and forth all day. guys would joke on the CB. lots of fun. the only part that sucked was spraying the inside of the box with diesel and trying to hide it from the construction crew (DOT does not like it but its the only way to keep the inside clean, the soap..... you might as well take a piss inside the box). i would do 5 or 6 loads a day.

it was great until the rain shut it down, day after day..... took almost 4 weeks to do wethersfield road...... a road right around the corner from me.

to this day every-time i drive on it, i can say..... yes i helped with this road. its a good feeling that i made my own little town a little better. i can also say how long it took to do that road lol
