You are pretty close on Feeder Driver pay.
I spent 10 years with UPS Parcel before I finally got sick of nights and weekends and I left to haul cars. I now run with a UPS driver every day and still talk to several others.
The ones who make more than you referenced run mileage jobs. Most of these jobs are usually about $2,700 a week with no extra work. Drivers who want extra work can always pick up an extra hour or two of OT at the end of the day. My buddy runs my old job, Thursday-Monday mileage turn Louisville to Chicago. He works an extra day atleast 4 months out of the year. If he gets a higher mileage job as extra work that easily gets him an extra grand a week for one day. I knew a sleeper driver who was making $160,000 6 years ago, but he had no life.
Bottom line is there is money to be made, but like most everything, it comes at a cost. UPS is a great place to work if you don't mind screwed up hours as you won't get a mon-fri day job for 30 years. They have very few jobs where you work 8 and skate. You will have pockets full of money, but no time to spend it.

Maybe that's the lucky part about working at a major rail hub. We have plenty of runs that are eight and skate.

Most of the guys I knew would gripe if they couldn't get 60 hours. I was just the opposite, let me do my job and leave.

I'm definitely more in that mold until I start making more money per hour and such.

It was definitely difficult passing up $1.20 per mile for a 600 mile job, but 1 day off a week just wasn't enough.

Other than the schedule the easiest job I had was 2 rounds from Louisville to New Stanton Pa. Started Friday night at 9pm. In hotel around 4am. Did same thing sun afternoon and finished mon at 5pm. If I wanted I could work 6th day on Tuesday and 7th day on Wednesday. But starting your work week at 9pm on Friday sucked, no matter how much money you were making.

Agreed, it's not an easy job, but I wouldn't work anywhere else after this. My wife already works nights, so it's not a tax on my personal life.

Never say never! As much as a liked UPS, my priorities in life changed. My UPS buddy that I run with on the way up mon-fri, still gets a kick out of it when I text him at 1330 to tell him I am parked for the day. He still has another 5-6 hours to end his day. For most of the world of trucking UPS is almost unbeatable.
On a side note when I turned in my 2 weeks notice my bosses boss said to tell me "he can't quit, nobody quits UPS". My boss who I considered a friend, told him "you don't know this guy". I left with Rehire status, but since I am happier now than in 30+ years of work, I won't be going backwards.

That's fair. I never know when my life will change in some unforeseen fashion. At least in the trucking industry, I can't see going anywhere else currently...but that's with my current perspective.
