We have 1 truck . We both are in truck when it is being used. One logs in as on duty driving. The other logs in on duty not driving

I assume you are running team.

    1. Whoever is going to start driving first logs in as active driver.
Then second driver logs in but remains inactive go to sleeper. You can be off duty 1st 2 hours then go to sleeper.

    2. When second driver starts driving you go to driver login. Hit change... log in and go on duty 1st driver goes to sleeper. Or off duty 1st 2 hours. Make sure you go straight to sleeper or off duty otherwise anything after 3 minutes will count as on duty.

    3. When you get home whoever is active go off duty 1st then log out. Other driver goes off duty then logs out. Otherwise second driver will be showing in passenger violation.
When asked if you want to add unassigned time or however it's worded always hit NO.
That's how it works with omnutracs or Qualcomm.
Hope this helps. I run team myself . It's how we do it

Thanks for your reply but we are daytrippers. No sleeper. Usually about 280 to 350 round trip

Ok I would say that the way you are doing it is about the only way to work it. Maybe someone in your line of work that does something similar could tell you better I don't want to tell you wrong and you end up getting a logbook violation

Exact same way. You will have two drivers setup in the software.
Driver 2 logs in, go on duty.
Driver 1 logs in and goes on duty, and when ready to roll will automatically go to driving.
Driver 1 at end of shift will go off duty.
Driver 2 will switch to them and go off duty.

That's the basic concept anyway. Every ELD will be slightly different as all the UI's are different.

Two drivers for that little bit?

What are we doing with two? Unloading or what?
