dump him, move onto greener pastures. if you are really hating it, you will never like it in the future.

it's like having a baby to try and keep a failing marriage. don't do it, get out, dump him, find a more stable guy, that has a job where he comes home nightly.

    good luck

For one thing you are out too long in that cramped coffin. And if you hate it now, it will not get any better

I thought hating this job was a requirement for CDL? If, not I spent too much on my 4-wheeler voodoo doll, with 200 pins included.

This is my question, too. "Hate" is a pretty strong word so I assume there is something that generates this. If it's a trust issue, then that probably means you're not going to make it long term, no matter what happens or who does what. If it's a "loneliness" issue, that can be the result of more than a few things, and this may or may not be able to be corrected, depending on the chemistry and the amount of compromise you two can negotiate.

Guys are "dime a dozen". Is he a new driver or has he been doing this more than a few years?

Unsure that a truckers forum is the best place for relationship advice...especially after seeing some of the replies...

What, specifically do you ‘hate’ about driving?

How long have you been training?

Here’s the thing... Trucking gets in your blood. I’ve loved it since I was a little kid. I have a fiancé and child on the way that don’t understand my love for it. She forces me to be home full time, but I miss the road everyday. It’s a special bond a person finds on the road

You hate truck driving? Sounds like you are in a Freightliner Cascadia.Try a 300 inch wheel base 379 and a spread axle reefer. Y'all will be married in a week.

The better you get at anything the more you like it, there will never be a time when you like some elements of the job but this is true of any vocation.

My advice is to try and learn as much as you can (not as much as you think you need) and see if your hatred for driving goes away.

I love restoring cars but I hate body work, the reason is because I suck at body work; if I could make them look as good as I can make them run I would not hate body work so much.
