The absolute worst dry van load I ever pulled was a load of crushed cars. Over gross on the first attempt. I went back and had them take off a couple of bricks. Gross weight was fine. But overweight on the trailer axles.
Instead of moving the trailer tandems I brought it up to 10 mph and slammed on the brakes. The load balanced nicely.
I had to have a legal CAT scale ticket to drop the load at the Mexican border, of all things. They don't care about weights in Mexico.
Rollover: Chances for a near future?

I loaded and hauled steel coils in a reefer down I-79 South of Pittsburgh to Charlotte.
I was very mindful of what I had in the box, on the aluminum floor. -
CradleofFilth08 and G13Tomcat Thank this.

I would certainly say this is a great lesson for anyone reading. You said "They assured me it was safe".....Well "they" aren't the ones who will be looking for a new job once the truck rolls. We are the ones transporting the load therefor we have the final say. Stuff can and will happen. Luckily you made it out alive. Best of luck on the job hunt.
Lepton1, CradleofFilth08, Mudguppy and 6 others Thank this. -
I couldn't imagine rolling over and I don't want to. When I start I'm taking those ramps like a scared sissy I don't give a f who calls me it either. I can be whatever you want to call me but be assured that truck is going to be upright and planted on all tires when I get off the ramp.
Woodys, HotH2o, HalpinUout and 1 other person Thank this. -
