Buy a box of Ziploc bags and put the ice in those bags that way when it melts you don't have to hassle with the water and draining it. Plus once it gets freezing in most states just refreeze the Ziploc bags of water to ice leave them outside for a few hours.
-
Sounds like too much work and I'd be afraid the ziplock would leak.I'd empty my cooler on grass and used the water for my dog.
-
Too much work? Lifting a big ### cooler in and out of the truck all the time would get old fast. Afraid of a Ziploc bag leaking? Umm what do you do when the ice melts in the cooler?
-
I already said what i would do.I used cooler when I was otr so Ziplock bags may be excellent for food I would be lost without them but for liquid I'd be afraid it would leak and get all over the truck.
-
Triple/quad-bag them...simple fix
-
How they spose to freeze back to ice?
-
I think the best thing to get is dry ice. That's what Omaha steaks use and no matter how hot it is the food stays real cold.
-
re-freeze? ain't nobody got time for that....lol
But I like your thought process below ...
-
Oh geez I gotta explain every little detail. When you want to take the Ziploc bags out of the cooler just put them in a Walmart bag and tie it. Then put it outside somewhere on the catwalk area. Go back out in a few hours and get the bag of ice packs...
Alot easier then lifting a big cooler out of the truck with it half full of water.
