    Yup.

If we can't kill it with fire, then insurance claims will...

I was thinking about this the other day and with the technology we have now it would be possible for them to get a pilot car to lead a convoy of trucks with another car at the caboose. Im figuring this is how they'll do it starting with easy low incline routes. And once close enough to the fd they will have a van drive drivers to the trucks and drive them to the docks.

Of course they will start by having someone in the driver seat overseeing everything but eventually they will become driverless and I think this is how they'll do it.

I just don't know how they'll stop the convoy without impeading traffic. Maybe the caboose car will have one of those light up signs that could indicate a lane closure.

With the dirty truck stops I've been in and surviving I think I'm probably immune to most diseases known to man. Some good advise; they don't like to clean that #### ice if you're in a ####ty truck stop and it looks run down avoid the ice from the soda dispenser

So what happens on say a red light when the first 2 trucks go in but the last 3 are still behind?

They would just be driverless on the interstate.

I thought this would come first, after all, we are only steering wheel holders.

It's called platooning and it's "in the works" also. Here's an overview. Platoon (automobile) - Wikipedia
In a nutshell it would work a lot like triples on the tollway does. Set up the platoon on one end, run it down the tollway until out of hours for the driver, or out of toll way. Turn around and come back with another platoon. Heck, they can even stage in the places triples stage. Short of that though, I can't see much practical use.
