Looks taller than 14' to me; maybe it's the photo angle?

    Logan76 Thanks this.

Probably, my experience is that 14 feet tall sitting behind a flat top tends to look pretty tall.

I picked up this BOP (Blow Out Preventer) in SE New Mexico this morning. Delivering tomorrow morning halfway between San Antonio and Houston.

It weighs 39,000 lbs. The good news is it was bolted to a stand. The bad news is only two out of six bolts were in place and they were loose.

I took the cotter pins out of two chains to get through the holes in the lift points. Then it took two chains linked together on either side to get the upper round flange to hold. After a few miles of gawdawful potholed county road I stopped to tighten a couple of the chains. It's been solid since then, in spite of the hideous condition of Orla Road and US-285 getting down through Pecos (I lost almost an hour in construction zones and following both "professional" and amateur drivers that just had to go 25 mph below the speed limit).

Looks right to me. I know full well about having to take the hooks off which is why I'll always turn down integral hooks. What's that black thing outside the rub rail behind the load?

    Logan76 and Lepton1 Thank this.

You might be looking at the pockets for my pipe stakes. Yes, they are slightly outside the rub rail, but within tolerance for load securement.

    Logan76 and G13Tomcat Thank this.
