Nobody makes you do anything. Tell them you are going home for a few days. End of discussion. Just do it ahead of time, it isn't good to commit to doing something then cancel. If they try to force you when you've planned some time off, say no. They don't like it to to work, unpack all your stuff from the truck, and go home. No need to raise blood pressure. Just learn how to do things your way. Trucking will chew you up and spit you out....if you let it.

Can't say rusty tandems have made me want to quit but they can be really annoying. Struggle with them long enough and a fellow driver will usually lend a hand. Also sucks when loads fall apart in the middle of the night just go to sleep and talk to dispatch in the am that's all you can do. Can't stress yourself out in this industry have to learn to chill out and go with the flow.

Well the story behind that day is I was running around all over the state and I have to do a regional route the next day so I was running late in arguing with one of the warehouse guys because he would not take my empty trailer so I call my dispatcher and Ask her what to do because he won’t take my trailer and she told me to not worry about it because I don’t have anymore time and like I said I was literally in the middle of nowhere and it being my second day I was usually overwhelmed and not paired to sleep in my truck at all.... it was literally one of those mental break down days

    Your right.
I did not research the ####### truck drivers on the highway. I did not research that in order to make a decent living you have to say goodbye to your family.
I didn’t research that companies just evaluate you on your driving that hand you the keys without any additional training leave you frustrated in the middle of nowhere.
Believe me bud... I have another job lined up for the same amount of pay and way less work. The only reason why I’m staying is because I already spent $5000 for a license and I hate to see it go to waste.

It’s not that it was the complete negligence of the company, I was way too under trained to be out of my own too soon. There was sooooooooooooooooooooooo much they didn’t teach or tell me. And I know absolutely nothing about this industry that was enough to drive me over the edge.

That's why many of us don't care for local or regional work. Too much of it is just as you describe.
Do you have endorsements? Start looking around and taking notes for some tanker work. A&R Logistics hires drivers with 6 mos. driving experience. Probably make $60K there your first year. Non-hazmat.
