Breitbart is your friend. If you have XM Sirius sat radio in your truck, listen in at 0600 Eastern. If not, get the Sirius XM ap and stream over your phone, $15 a month and well worth it. Channel 125

Where is your location in the South? You can make a thousand a week or more with the right company right out of cdl school. You can "take home" over a thousand a week with some companies. Need to know your location so we know the hiring area you live in.
You'll have a job before you graduate from cdl school.

A thousand a week is cool, until the taxes are taken out, and then we have living on the road expenses... And if one smokes... This is not something to just jump right in to... But, I knew a guy back in the day that worked all week driving and got a check for $200 and was crying in the parking lot at his good fortune... I worked for the same company, Prime, and mine was $1500... That was 30 years ago.

That was back when Prime trucks ran 75 mph and used paper logs. I quit smoking a long time ago, but when I did, I'd stock up when I passed through Indian reservations. Many drivers still do that.

Mine didn't, top end was 70, and I kept her at 65, fuel baby. It was cheap, but I cherished every penny. And besides, 55 was pretty much the norm back then, never got a speeding ticket. Well, I did in 2000, 63 in a 55 on the Ohio TP, driving for an OO... They nailed me good. ;-)

Jobs are there. Opportunity is there. But if someone just rolls up and offers you a dream, take caution. When you're in school and these recruiters come in offering prehire letters and stuff, just remember that they're trying to visit Uranus.

Eggs are high in cholesterol and steak is red meat, known to cause all kinds of health issues. LOL

And I didn't find the perfect job, I found a good one, though. For a slightly larger company (800 trucks) they let us run 68 which is on the upper end of the spectrum. Not at the top, but close for a non-o/o truck. The people I work for are pretty good. When they screw up they not only apologize, I get a message on the qualcomm for compensation for my misfortune.

What do you think? Companies are buying people bus tickets, paying for school, meals, and hotel rooms just for a chance and picking up a driver. It’s a drivers market.

There's some good trucking jobs out there, even for new drivers just starting their career.
McLane Foodservice drivers knocking down $70K and begging for drivers. Lots of manual labor is why they always need drivers.
