Sorry I'm not familiar with that company. I looked around the web and found very little. It appears that they operate or operated In Ca Az and Nv, it's been many years since I ran south of the Oregon California state line so I can't offer any personal observations. I wonder if the trailers Gatordude saw were old storage trailers???? Anyway, I like the 377 Pete!

In the end CEX / Penn Yann was another example of a company that was a relic of a bygone era that failed to evolve to the new reality.

I wish we still had cool trucks like that 377 around today. The new trucks are very ugly. I got assigned a new (to me) tractor at work yesterday and it was almost like taking a step backwards. I previously drove a 2011 unit that was in great shape just had new drive tires put on a huge grocery list of new parts and service, truck was as good as it gets:

The new truck is new, but it's not as clean and was out of oil I put 2 gallons in it yesterday. Other then that it seems to be all there, but my old truck I liked better.

Yes I think so. The owners of Penn Yann new that and new that there best bet was to sell out to Conway there's no doubt about it.

Was the 2011 a Volvo as well?

When I first went to work for my current employer I was assigned a Freightliner FLD120, over the years I opted out of the Columbias they were buying because I felt the FLD was a better built truck, and I liked the first generation aerodynamic styling (i.e. T600,377 & 9400) that the FLD represents. Eventually the FLD had its triples license removed due to age and I was forced into a Columbia (yuck). Columbias like most newer trucks are engineered down to the lowest possible cost, cheap cheap cheap.
I really miss the Peterbilts from the earlier part of my career. The Doudell Pete reminds me of the third truck I was assigned. It was a 1988 377 with a Cummins NTC big cam 400, in case your not familiar that engine is mechanically controlled (no computers). Had a lot of fun driving that thing around the country.

yes exact same truck make and model and specification. The only difference is the new one is a 2015 and has the companies new (not as good in my opinion logo I don't care for our new logo at all.) our old logo was awesome it may have been a tad dated, but they could have done better then what they went with.

Anymore our fleet system wide is all Volvo here in the states that Volvo VN 200 or what ever it is, is all they buy they bought some Internationals back 10 years ago and had trouble with them and cancelled there PO with International. They finally put the last of the Internationals out of spare service stripped all the logo's off and retired them out to pasture.

GFS is pretty homogoous about there fleet they pretty much buy one truck and stick with it. They had Fords for almost ever, then did some experimenting with White GMC when Ford sold to Sterling they went with Sterling and also added some Volvo's into the mix and they were pretty much Sterling and Volvo and then they decided they didn't like Sterling anymore because there trucks were junk so they went with Volvo from 2004ish to the present.
