You guys west of Kansas City don't have GFS, but were pretty big in the midwest and mid Atlantic. We do everything pretty much east of Kansas City.

1992 White GMC Detroit Diesel 60 Series Company Promo Photo Taken in Grand Rapids, Michigan most likely.

1988 Ford L9000 used to be the standard tractor this was also a company promo photo taken in Grand Rapids, MI as well if I had to guess.

This was a mid 1990s unit this was a Promo unit I think this was a 1996 right before Ford sold to Sterling. Pretty sure that is an actual Ford Tractor. I don't know what happened to this particular unit I'm sure it's all been retired and sold off now.

I had one of those when I ran Linehaul. No fuel gauge, no air ride seat, no am/fm radio, no AC. Truck had nearly 2 million miles on it so you can imagine how great the inside of that nasty cab smelled. LOL. Boy are we spoiled now days

Our older guys at GFS who run transit now who were around for the Ford era said those GFS Ford L9000s were barebones. One guy said the trucks they had were never as clean as the one in the picture and they didn't have heated mirrors or power windows nothing. I do think our guys might have had an AM radio, but they weren't like the Volvo's of today with air ride seats with a seat message cycle and satellite radio and heated mirrors and cruise control and power adjust mirrors and power windows and fuel data and a host of other goodies.

IMG_8762.jpg Since this is a CF thread it's worth noting that they were notorious for specing their trucks very cheaply. Note the lack of upholstery on this 1990's COE's door, the 5 gauge dash (8 gauges was standard) and the 6 or 7 speed transmission. CF also special ordered a two headlight setup instead of the standard 4 headlight system the FLD/FLB usually had.

I went to the American truck historical society show in des Moines last summer and there were a couple late model unrestored c.f. trucks that I looked at the interior of and yes they were bare bones stripped ....and when I say unrestored I mean they hadn't even been cleaned yet ...the word filthy comes to mind lol.
