ive been with schneider for three months and the pay is not there. I've read mcclane guarantee you 52k first year and also had a buddy working for maines who got paid pretty good home every other night. And are there any LTL companies who will hire a rookie?

You can try ups. Might have to start as a dock/driver at first. Union shop, so it' all seniority as far as good routes goes

    roscold90 and x1Heavy Thank this.

Seniority in a Union Shop takes time to acquire. Sometimes years or decades. Just so you know.

McLane has a guaranteed minimum for extra board drivers, as long as you answer your phone and don’t turn down any work. Our dc doesn’t pay out a minimum very often. Extra board is always busy.

Food service does chain restaurants. Grocery does a lot of different stuff, from truck stops to mom and pop convenience stores.
I guess it depends on where you are and what’s close.

Oh ok. I'd probably rather go with food service but I'm pretty sure both is hard work
