Hey drivers don't mean to make the topic sound misleading. We all know you got some dirty perverted thoughts. Just kidding.
Wanted to find out what you guys thought of and do now or when you started in comparison.
So i was taught to use my flashers front and back as a courtesy to other drivers to let em know it's safe to pass them and as a thank you for letting the driver know.
When I first started it got a little on my nerves to see other drivers not have the same courtesy. Now I don't really pay attention as much. I show the courtesy but don't expect it back.
I've seen some drivers who even disregard ones flashers and I think create a unsafe lane change.
Anyways I don't want to digress I just want to see what your thoughts were on the matter of using your flashers to signal other drivers into your lane at a safe time and as a thank you.

When you signals someone it is safe to pass or pull out and if anything happens like an accident, you could be held liable. No way that I would put myself in this position, it just is not worth it.

Sounds like there might be a grey area. Headlights, horn, brake lights, turn signals, eye contact are all methods of communication to a driver that might not see you.
As I mentioned before I've seen drivers cut right in front of a trucker creating a unsafe lane change. Who's fault does the accident allways fall on. The drivers!
I see what your saying but I think there's a grey area to it.

Flashing your lights tend to blind the driver since they are looking in their mirrors to see if it is safe to move over... method most use is to turn lights off/on/off/on, while on low beam.. not as blinding

I admit I'm one who has quit flashing meaning off and back on just because majority of the time I don't get a thank you back.

Thanks for the correction. I actually meant just a tap of the headlights. Flashers sounded better tho for the topic title >:)
