I will blink my headlights to signal another driver it's OK to come back in the slow lane where real drivers drive <sarcasm>. If it's daytime I may flash my highbeams briefly. I've really reduced the number of trucks I will do that for any more. When I started it was for almost every truck and almost every truck blinked his running lights or 4-ways in return. New drivers don't seem to do anything ever, in this regard. I guess they are too busy updating Facebook or watching cat videos.
After I pass, I always blink my running lights even if I wasn't signaled. Newer drivers never blink the "thank you" signal in my experience. I'm sure their trainer with 3 weeks experience told them the world would end and to always, no matter what, and park at the fuel islands.
She flashed me so I flashed her back.

Oh darn. I thought this was going to be a topic about an interesting female "flashing" show where it turned south when the guy somehow "flashed" her back. I could do without that mental image.

AfterShock, tscottme, G13Tomcat and 2 others Thank this. -
There is no law saying that you have to immediately get over when you clear the bumper. Matter of fact that pisses me off more than the cars behind you. Lost many windshields due to #######es like this.
Does no one remember drivers ed training or do they not teach you how to pass any more?
Nothing wrong with hanging in the left lane until you can safely come back over. I have had idiots come back over so close that I could not see under the trailer.Pianoman, tscottme, JReding and 1 other person Thank this. -
aussiejosh, DOGSLIFE and 201 Thank this.

@86mechanic ... isn't this some 'rule' in Cali ... ? ie: Californications?!?!
Thought I read that somewhere (or maybe it was a song?)
86mechanic Thanks this. -
I really don't signal (interrupt lights) too much anymore. I am concerned about safety as well (and liability). When I do do it it is usually for someone slightly faster than me in heavy traffic. BUT, just the other day I did this and a 4 wheeler still shot around and got on the drivers right side
I honked the horn before the guy hit him. He really didn't seem like a great driver. I thought if something happened I could be blamed.
I appreciate when others are polite, but I still watch other traffic before I move back over.
As for flashing sometimes it accidentally gets pushed after someone passes me with their high beams on. I don't know why?
I really wish less people used their high beams. It seems to be an epidemic with 4 wheelers and truckers alike. -
I don't care if others do it for me. It's nice, but I'm still liable to make sure I'm passing safely, so I don't go off of someone flashing me over. When they do it for me I give them a couple thank you's using the button on the turn signal indicator that turns off the trailer marker lights if I'm pulling trailers that will do that.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -

i'm happy when everyone just leaves me alone and lets me do my thing,no flashing or flashers or confusion any of that.
