Hi Friends, (and Happy Thanksgiving),
I just saw this article and considered some of the implications of it.

I know there are some drivers out there who have been in accidents where people lost their lives (through no fault of their own). BUT, they continue to drive...i don't know how they do it?
Anyone out there know DRIVES who suffer from PTSD and still drive OTR?
PTSD and Driving OTR...?

I'm a Iraq vet and I'll say my 359 saved my life when I was discharged. It's one of those things that you gotta press on with life. You can let it consume youOldironfan, 91B20H8, CrappieJunkie and 6 others Thank this. -
It takes awhile to deprogram.
If you plan on driving around a major population center, which is hard not to do, you're going to be in a constant state of stress.
Nobody gives a F.
Welcome home.

Dave's right, O/P ... Hope your Thanksgiving is happy, as well, guys! Best of luck to you.

Stop being such emotional ninnies. Life is a ##### but you get up and continue living it. BFD. FFS we have college kids now screaming for "safe spaces" so they don't have to hear words they can't handle.
I had a four wheeler cross the center line at the last second and take his life by hitting me. I remember the day very clearly but it hasn't stopped me from continuing to drive. I was back in the seat the very next week. That was almost 28 years ago. -

I am going to go wear a safety pin now, to show solidarity with you.
Anyway...I think people don’t experience much in the way of ‘reality’ - they’re too sheltered, perhaps. Stuff happens. People deal with things in different ways.
The people that I’ve known and respected, are the people that don’t wear their feelings on their sleeves.Blackshack46, slickWillie1980, G13Tomcat and 2 others Thank this. -
In general I agree and disagree. It goes overboard. Some kids need to grow up and learn to deal with "curse words." But also PTSD is a real thing. Most of us have the luxury of sleeping without night terrors, but not all of us. My brother and my sister's husband both deal with it. -
Dan.S Thanks this.
