You said you read all the negative reviews on here
    Before you took the job.
Yet you still took the job.

Everything you complained about are the exact
same things the drivers who wrote negative reviews complained about.
So none of it should have surprised you.

These minimum salary OTR jobs suck balls.
It's nothing more than a way make the drivers
Do all the #### loads and swaps and relays that they
Know any driver with expierence and a brain would
    Never waste his time with.

Next time you read a bunch of bad reviews about
A company you'll think twice about blowing them off.
    Hopefully.

Do you know for a fact, that they state that in orientation? I'm a stranger WRT K&B, but Ms Patty did drive for them, and has stated that they never said anything like that, at least to their class.
If they do state such a thing, it would still be he said/they said, without it being in writing.

At the very least you could sue them yourself in small claims court and see what the judge thinks about it.

I drove for them as well, just left less than a month ago. While I found them annoying I did not find them to be either dishonest nor dishonorable, they did everything they said they would. They did not route me through home but I neglected to mention I needed them to do so until it was clear they weren't planning to which was 8 days before my last day. They offered to do so, but said they couldn't do so and still get me to the terminal in 8 days. I declined their offer because I didn't want to delay starting my next job.

The OP on this thread said they told him it wasn't possible. They essential told me the same thing but that was hardly the full story. They told me that had I told them when I gave my notice they would have had no problem getting be home to unload then to the terminal to turn in the truck. After I gave notice they routed me to as close to home as they get. When I raised the issue they asked why I didn't ask for home time while there. I'm inclined to think they routed me there assuming I would need to go home to unload. I screwed up, it was an expensive mistake. I had no impression they had any issue with routing me through home other than the time constraints when I raised the issue.

Personally, I'm inclined to think that's because they actually have a legal obligation to do so. Likely why they give you a bus ticket home too. It could be just out of the kindness of their heart, but I doubt it. I think without that legal protection companies could, essentially, enslave people under some circumstances. I don't have any case law backing that assertion but I'm not big on faith in the kind hearts of corporations. I tend to think companies only do what they have to do.

I read somewhere that the only obligation a company has is to get you to your home state not to your house or city for that matter. I dont know if that is true or not.

They told you that they would route you home, with 2 weeks notice, that's great. But there is NO proof they told the OP that. If they did, and he didn't take advantage, shame on him. And the OP hasn't been seen in a few days.

But I still see no legal obligation for them to do that. You're going to spend $3000.00 or more to take it to court, and tell the judge "they said they would do this, and they didn't". And for what? Maybe $500.00 in expenses?

Always take your time off at home clean the truck out and only carry a duffel bag of items with you then when you come off send o'clock a message saying this is your 2 week notice then if they decide the heck with it and write you back to the yard and so be it you got all your stuff out of the truck....

also if they decide to turn around and come get the truck immediately after you put it in writing that you were needing to get routed back to the yard to turn in the truck they can't legally put abandonment on your record either

Whether they have a legal obligation or not is largely irrelevant. Following the same procedure you would to prepare for a lawsuit is your best chance to get them to route you through home if it is at all possible to get them to do so. Ranting, raving and threatening to kill three generations of their family certainly isn't going to help. If they don't route you through home by no fault of your own then send them the bill. Don't just assume they won't pay it any more than you ought to assume the aren't going to route you through home. If you don't ask they certainly aren't going to.
