Yeah, I wasn't gonna take it anymore.
Done with getting screwed so I'm doing my own thing now. Not with my own authority but basically doing my own thing.
Brokers play games too but at least I have more control over that vs being stuck with a carrier playing games with loads and rates.

money is great as long as you're not relying on a carrier for freight and/or giving up a huge % (or worse paid by the mile)

    drvrtech77 Thanks this.

Okay, tell us a carrier that pay very well and doesn't lie and screw with it's drivers.

Same ones that I've always said before. The all owner operator carriers like mercer landstar bennett admiral merchant etc etc.

Unless things have changed Landstar keeps 35% if you use their trailers or 28% if you bring your own Van trailer.
Mercer keeps what, 25% and you supply the trailer.
Do they let you book from the open market or are you stuck with what they offer you?
I can't justify paying for a truck and trailer and giving up more than 15% unless the carrier gives me loads that pay astronomical and it's all in writing.
Gotta get something in return for getting ripped off on the percentage imo.

    Dunno about those other carriers.

At both what you get in return is access to very lucrative freight. I don't see to many security required dod loads on the open market. Some security dod loads pay stupid like 2k and be finished before lunchtime. and other lucrative opportunities that never see a public load board

Look I'm not saying you would do better here at one of the others than what you are doing there cause i have no idea how well you are doing or who you are with, I'm just saying not all carriers are created equal and you can't get hung up on the exact percentage number. Take the moving van companies for example, they take a bigger percentage than anyone, yet their o/o's are near the top of the scale in what they bring home.

Yeah you do flatbed which is a different world than me, all I've done is Van and Reefer.
I wouldn't mind giving away a big percentage just as long as the rates are big to make up for it.
I haven't heard of any Landstar/Mercer Van guys killing it, flatbed though yeah different story.
