I have KT working on AOBRD mode. No way to adjust drive start speed threshold and drive time can be converted only to on duty yard move time. Gorilla AOBRD has better options. Mega carriers are using something that has Gorilla AOBRD features. Any driver can be made legal (....) . Admin account user can do everything and can send the log to driver's device..Last edited: Nov 29, 2017

Supposed to start running
Zed logs... In the instructions it says by fmsca regs I have to keep 8 days of blank paper logs at all times... WTF... -
Yah... It's in case your elog craps out and you can update your previous 7 days
-
I'm case something goes wrong you need paper logs to keep driving.

Just fyi, do with it as you will. The tablet or cell phone, whatever you are using for the human interface for a compliant ELD must be mounted in a cradle within reach of the driver while seated at the controls. The malfunction indicator light and communication light must also be visible at all times while in the driver seat.
If you are putting your interface (tablet, phone, etc) in a cup holder, dash pocket or on the seat you are in violation because you can't see the visual indicator when the device malfunctions.
Here is a screen shot from the FMCSA FAQ page, the exact ruling can be found in the ELD technical specifications.
25(2)+2 and Scooter Jones Thank this. -
I was given a apple tablet... I thought all elds had to be hardwired into the obd port?
-
The interface that reads the ECM will be hardwired but they can use Bluetooth or other similiar near field communication to connect to the human interface.
If yours is a compliant ELD it will have some type of dongle or box that either plugs into the ecm or is wired into the J bus somewhere under the dash.Streetroddreams Thanks this. -
Cool.. I know that they were installing something in the truck today but just thought it was a holder for the tablet...ill know more tomorrow lol
