The 8 inch rand McNally tablet

Hey, is there any chance someone could upload the launcher APK for me please? Got one of the lower end TND tablets that I'm trying to modify to my liking. Thanks!

 

Will not work.. RM has tied many files into the Android system that the user cannot pull out...

 

I have had no issue modifying the TND launcher and reinstalling with an option to launch NOVA. I just want to see if I can modify this launcher to work with mine.

 

If you use a 3rd party system explorer, you should be able to pull the launcher APK with no problem.

RM should consider disabling sideloading if they don't want anyone bypassing their paltry restrictions.

 

Sideloading is left enabled on the Tablets so users can install their APK's from Google/Amazon Stores. For testing also Sideloading needs to be enabled so we can put them in the download folder and install them to test as in new versions.

On the x40's Sideloading is disabled. On these models we have to have the APK's pushed to the device from the server.

 

ADB sideloading isn't disabled on the x40's though. And once another launcher is sideloaded, it's a simple matter of installing another file browser, as well as whatever application you want. I don't know what your relationship with Rand is, but you seem to understand this. I can appreciate your commitment to their policies either way.
