That's why you check beforehand. Make certain you know all the details before you sign. If you don't, you're gonna get screwed and laughed at if you came back with "You didn't tell me..."

I guess you should of "just known". Now stop crying and plan for every conceivable thing, even for ones you've never heard of or experienced.

Evidently, not everyone in here wants to help others out.

I was supoosed to do my due diligence and call a psychic to find out if there will be any surprises or extra work on the load. Being you can't count on the broker to tell you the truth and the customer was closed that's the route I should have went. Shame on me

Did you ask the broker before signing?

Its a simple question. "Is there anything I should know, any special requirements the customer has before loading?"

If the shipper was closed then obviously there was time to do some planning before heading in.

    I mean which is it?

First they paid for you to get a wash, which since you didn't understand why obviously meant they were the morons right? How dare they ask you to bring them a clean trailer?

Then it was them calling you and you had to race over to get loaded cause it was time sensitive, and you'd get fined big for being late, but then found out you had to get a wash.

Then they knew you probably couldn't make it on time so it was no big deal.

Now they were closed when you signed? So you had no way of knowing or planning for anything?

I asked the broker but there was nothing.
Many times I've noticed they lie and hide things from you just to lure you to take the load. I get the trailer washout, that's normal, the other stuff no.
